Dinner in KL Tonight: Date, Group or Solo

The decision page for tonight. Not a list of thirty restaurants — one honest answer for each kind of table: two of you, a group, or just you. What it costs, what to order, when to book, and when not to come.

Dinner in KL: pizza, drinks and live band at Byond Walls Millerz Square | 吉隆坡晚餐 撞墙现场乐队

Where should I eat dinner tonight in KL or PJ?

Byond Walls Pizza Bar & Cafe (撞墙) serves dinner at two outlets — 08-06, Millerz Square, 8th Floor Podium Level, 357 Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur 58000 (sky garden, covered parking, live band Fri & Sat 8PM–11PM) and 16, Jalan SS 2/10, SS 2, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor (home bar with karaoke room). Group dinner sets run RM108 for 2–3 pax, RM145 for 4–5 pax and RM225 for 6–8 pax; 12-inch pizzas on 30-hour cold-fermented dough are RM38.80–RM62; pasta starts at RM19. Open 8AM to midnight Mon–Thu, 8AM to 1AM Fri–Sun, non-halal, full bar until close. Reservations through Google take two taps.

Deciding Dinner Is a Who Question, Not a What Question

Nobody stalls on cuisine. The group chat stalls on the table: who is coming, and what does that table need.

Dinner in KL is eaten between 7PM and 9PM, and it is the one meal the city actually books. Breakfast is habit, lunch is logistics, supper is impulse — dinner is a plan. Which is why the useful question is not "what's good" but "what does tonight's table look like". A date needs a room you are not embarrassed by and a wine list that is not an afterthought. A family or a group of friends needs one order that feeds everyone without a fifteen-minute menu negotiation. A solo dinner needs a seat where nobody hovers, at a price that does not punish you for coming alone.

This page answers all three, with real prices from our own menu — dine-in prices unless a line explicitly says GrabFood. We run two rooms: the flagship on the 8th floor sky garden of Millerz Square on Old Klang Road, and a hidden home bar in SS2, Petaling Jaya. Same kitchen philosophy in both: 30-hour cold-fermented Neo-Neapolitan dough, pork on the menu on purpose, a full bar that pours until the kitchen closes — midnight Monday to Thursday, 1AM Friday to Sunday.

One thing to know before the sections below: Friday and Saturday between 7PM and 9PM is our crunch. If that is your slot, reserve first and read after. It takes two taps through Google.

Dinner for Two: The Date Table

The math of a good date dinner: one pizza to share, two glasses of wine, no rush to leave.

A 12-inch on 30-hour dough is built for two people — the Classic Margherita is RM38.80, and it is also the menu's only vegetarian pizza, which quietly solves the "actually I don't eat meat" reveal. House-pour wine starts at RM25 a glass — a Chile Sauvignon Blanc or Cabernet Sauvignon — so the classic date order lands at RM88.80 for the table — we did the arithmetic so nobody has to at the till. If the night deserves more, the Prosciutto Di Parma at RM62 is the top of our pizza list, the Clarendelle Bordeaux Rosé pours at RM34, and a glass of Brilla Prosecco is RM39.

Prefer cocktails to wine? The list runs RM32 to RM35 — the Oolonnng (vodka, oolong tea, grapefruit) at RM32 is the one we hand to people who claim they do not like cocktails. And if pizza is not the mood, the Salted Egg Seafood Spaghetti at RM28 is the pasta people photograph, or go simple with a Signature Pork Chop at RM36. Finish with the French Choux Cream with drinks set at RM14.90 if the conversation is going well and neither of you wants to call for the bill yet.

Which outlet for a date? Millerz Square, most nights — the 8th floor sky garden is open air, the city lights do half the work after dark, and on Friday and Saturday the live band runs 8PM to 11PM with no cover charge. Time it so dinner starts around 7:30PM and the band becomes your second act. Choose SS2 instead when you want the opposite: a hidden home bar where nobody is performing anything and the two of you can hear each other at normal volume. The Millerz sky garden welcomes pets in the open-air section, if the third member of the date has four legs; at SS2 outdoor space is limited, so call ahead first.

One honest warning, repeated on purpose: Friday and Saturday 7PM to 9PM without a booking is a wait, and waiting in a lift lobby is a bad first act. Reserve through Google or WhatsApp before you set out.

Family & Friends: The Group Dinner Sets

The hero of this page. One line on the order, the whole table fed, and the per-head math done honestly below.

Group dinner fails at the ordering stage more often than at the eating stage — six people, one menu, and a chairman nobody elected. The dinner sets exist to delete that stage. Three sizes, priced for the table:

Dinner Premium Set, 2–3 pax

The couple-plus-one size — or two very hungry people. Works out to RM54 a head as a pair, RM36 a head with three.

RM108

Dinner Set, 4–5 pax

The family size. RM36.25 a head at four, RM29 a head at five — the sweet spot is obviously five.

RM145

Dinner Set, 6–8 pax

The reunion size. RM37.50 a head at six; fill the table to eight and it drops to about RM28 each.

RM225

Per head, that is tai chow money for a table with a bar, a view and a band — and we will get to what tai chow still does better in a moment. Prefer to build your own spread? The 12-inch sharing pizzas run RM38.80 to RM62: the Mala Porky at RM45 is the Grab Signatures Award winner and the one to argue over last slices of; the Salted Egg Seafood at RM48 converts the aunties; the Beef Salami at RM48 covers the no-pork-by-preference friends. Or go with the pizza combos: 2 Pax Value Pizza Combo at RM66, 4 Pax at RM110, 6 Pax at RM168 — that last one is RM28 a head.

For the table's drinks, buckets and towers beat rounds: a bucket of five Carlsberg is RM80 against RM17 a bottle, a Carlsberg tower is RM170, and the Somaek tower — soju plus Carlsberg — is RM188 for the table that intends to stay past the band's last song. SS2 has the karaoke room and the private home bar for the group that wants the night to itself.

Past eight people, you are drifting out of dinner and into an event — and we do those properly: packages from RM999, or from RM40 per pax for groups of 10 and up. Millerz Square hosts up to 60 pax, SS2 up to 80. Birthdays, farewells, the annual dinner your company keeps postponing — the details live on the events page below.

Dinner Alone, Without the Solo Tax

Most dinner spots price and portion for pairs. Eating alone should not cost like a compromise.

The solo dinner menu here is genuinely solo-sized. Personal pizzas start at RM17.80 for the Classic Margherita; the bagel pizzas — a Byond Walls original on our own hand-rolled bagels — start at RM17.90 for the Deli-Style Pepperoni and top out at RM19.90 for the Si-Chuan Mala Porky. Pasta from RM19 for the Bolognese. The 2 in 1 Combo at RM24 and 3 in 1 Combo at RM26 bundle the decision entirely, which is the point of eating alone: zero negotiation.

Want a plate instead of a pizza? The western list holds the Signature Chicken Chop at RM28, the Salted Egg Chicken Chop at RM29 and Fish and Chips at RM32, with the Homemade Mushroom Soup at RM13.80 or a Caesar Salad at RM14 in front if you skipped lunch. The quieter option is the ochazuke — Japanese tea-on-rice, from RM25 for the Chicken Katsu to RM32 for the Salmon — which might be the single most restorative thing on the menu after a long work day. A seat at the bar, one RM17 Carlsberg or a RM32 cocktail, and nobody asks when your friend is arriving. Weeknights before 7PM or after 9PM, the room is at its calmest.

The Evening Arc: Dinner Is Act One

Most dinner places end at the bill. Here the bill is optional punctuation.

The structural advantage of having dinner where the bar and the stage already are: nobody has to relocate. The arc runs itself — dinner from 7PM, plates cleared; 8PM the live band starts at Millerz Square every Friday and Saturday, no cover charge, running to 11PM; then the bar carries the room until close — midnight Monday to Thursday, 1AM Friday to Sunday, and the kitchen keeps the full menu going until the last order, so the table that got hungry again at 11:30PM is a solved problem. No convoy across town, no "where to next" negotiation on the kerb, no second parking hunt.

At SS2 the arc bends inward instead: dinner first, then the karaoke room and the private home bar, and the night stays yours instead of the room's. Two different second acts; same kitchen, same hours, same last call.

If the band is the reason you are coming, the timing to know: dinner seating at 7–7:30PM gets you fed before the first set, and the tables closest to the stage go to whoever reserved. Everything else about band nights — the schedule, the room, what to expect — is on the live band page.

The Honest Comparison — And When Not to Come

Every dinner option in this city is a trade. Here is the trade, stated plainly.

Tai chow beats us on price. We beat it on everything after the food.

A neighbourhood tai chow will feed a family for less than our dinner sets, with wok hei we do not pretend to replicate. What it will not give you: a reservation (you queue on your feet), a drinks list beyond beer, a room you would bring a date to, or anywhere for the evening to go after the plates are cleared. Choose tai chow when the food is the whole point. Choose us when the food is the start of the point.

Mostly non-halal, like us

Mall chains beat us on predictability. We beat them on atmosphere.

The mall chain is a rational choice: air-conditioned, consistent, easy parking, everyone knows the menu. It is also dinner inside a shopping centre — fluorescent corridors, a food-court hum, last orders that follow mall hours, and not a bar in sight. Our dinner runs to midnight or 1AM with a band on weekends and a bar that does not close when the shutters next door do. Predictable is fine. It is just not a night.

Mostly halal — go there if you need halal; we are non-halal

Fancy dining beats us on ceremony. We beat it on the bill.

There are nights that call for white tablecloths and a sommelier, and we are not that room. But notice what the ceremony costs: our largest dinner set feeds a table of eight for RM225 — at a tasting-menu restaurant that figure often does not feed one. Sky garden, live band, wine at RM25 a glass: most of the occasion, a fraction of the invoice. Save fine dining for the anniversary. This is for the other fifty-one weeks.

And the honest "when not to come" list, because a guide that only sells is not a guide: do not come Friday or Saturday 7PM–9PM without a reservation — that is a wait, full stop. Do not come if you need halal: we are non-halal by design, pork and alcohol both on the menu, and no amount of asking nicely changes the kitchen. Do not come to Millerz Square on a band night if you want a silent room — come before 8PM, pick a garden-edge table, or pick SS2. And if what you actually want tonight is banana leaf, a steamboat or nasi kandar — go get it. KL is generous that way. We will be here next week.

Dinner Delivered: The Standing Grab Deal

Some nights the answer to "where" is the sofa. We deliver to that table too.

Both outlets run on GrabFood through operating hours with free delivery and an always-on deal: RM3 off orders above RM25, RM7 off orders above RM50. GrabFood prices differ from dine-in — the two lines below show the Grab menu price struck through, next to what you actually pay after the deal:

Two honest notes: dine-in prices and dine-in sets are not available on Grab (the group dinner sets are a table thing), and the 30-hour dough survives the box better than most pizza because of the fermentation, not the packaging. Order in the 7–9PM window and expect the same surge every other dinner in the Klang Valley is experiencing.

Dinner in KL: Questions

Where should I eat dinner near Old Klang Road?

Old Klang Road mixes older Chinese coffee shop rows with newer podium developments that keep evening hours. Byond Walls at Millerz Square — 08-06, Millerz Square, 8th Floor Podium Level, 357 Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur 58000 — is an 8th floor sky garden with covered parking in the building, 12-inch pizzas at RM38.80–RM62, group dinner sets RM108–RM225, a full bar, and a live band every Friday and Saturday 8PM–11PM with no cover charge. Open until midnight Mon–Thu and 1AM Fri–Sun.

Where can I get dinner in SS2 or Petaling Jaya?

SS2 is one of the Klang Valley's densest dinner grids. Byond Walls SS2 is at 16, Jalan SS 2/10, SS 2, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor — a home bar concept with a karaoke room, same menu as KL: dinner sets RM108–RM225, pizzas RM38.80–RM62, pasta from RM19, full bar. Open until midnight Mon–Thu, 1AM Fri–Sun. Reserve via Google or WhatsApp +601116663809.

How much is dinner for two?

A realistic date dinner: one 12-inch pizza to share — RM38.80 for the Classic Margherita up to RM62 for the Prosciutto Di Parma — plus house-pour wine from RM25 a glass or cocktails at RM32–RM35. The Dinner Premium Set for 2–3 pax is RM108 if you would rather not decide dish by dish.

How much is dinner for a group?

The dinner sets are priced by table: RM108 for 2–3 pax, RM145 for 4–5 pax, RM225 for 6–8 pax — about RM28 a head when eight share the largest set. Beyond that it becomes an event: packages from RM999, or from RM40 per pax for groups of 10 and up, with Millerz Square holding up to 60 pax and SS2 up to 80.

Do I need a reservation for dinner?

Walk-ins work most nights. The exception is Friday and Saturday 7PM–9PM — without a booking, expect a wait, especially at Millerz Square on live band nights. Reserving through Google takes two taps, or WhatsApp +60146303809 (Millerz Square) / +601116663809 (SS2).

What time is dinner, and how late does the kitchen run?

Both outlets open 8AM every day — day cafe into night bar — and the kitchen serves the full menu until closing: midnight Mon–Thu, 1AM Fri–Sun. Dinner peaks 7–9PM; the live band plays Fri & Sat 8–11PM at Millerz Square.

Is Byond Walls halal?

No — non-halal by design. Pork and alcohol are both on the menu at both outlets; the signature Mala Porky Pizza (RM45) won the Grab Signatures Award. The only vegetarian pizza is the Classic Margherita — RM38.80 for a 12-inch, RM17.80 personal.

Can I get dinner delivered?

Yes — both outlets deliver on GrabFood with free delivery and the standing deal of RM3 off above RM25, RM7 off above RM50. Grab prices differ from dine-in: the MALA Piggy 12-inch is RM49 on Grab, which the deal brings to RM46. Dine-in sets are not available for delivery.

Tonight Is Decided, Then.

Reserve a table in two taps at Millerz Square or SS2, book on WhatsApp, or have dinner delivered. Kitchen and bar until midnight Mon–Thu, 1AM Fri–Sun.
